Michael Zharkovsky at the beginning of World War II, still a young man who participated in the construction of defensive positions near Moscow, digging anti-tank ditches. Later, after many years, Zharkovsky receive a medal for the defense of Moscow.

A year before the war began, Mikhail Abramovich entered the Theater School imeniSchukina on Konstantinovna Vera Lvova course, from which he graduated in 1945 and was immediately accepted into the troupe Vakhtangov Theatre.

Since 1964 Zharkovsky working in managerial positions. From 1964 to 1967, Mikhail Abramovich is the deputy head of the theaters of the USSR Ministry of Culture. From 1967 to 1977 Zharkovsky director of Moscow`s Stanislavsky Drama Theatre, and from 1977 to 1985 - Managing Director of the Moscow Musical Theater of Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko. In 1985, Mikhail Abramovich retired.

The most famous work of the actor in the film was the role in the television series Kaltenbrunner Tatiana Lioznova "Seventeen Moments of Spring." Besides Zharkovsky known for the films "Escape at dawn" (Berg) and the "Front for the front line" (High-Klein).
