The son of a forester, aged five years, lost his father, who was mortally wounded porubschikami forest, caught them in the act. Local farmers rescued him and took him to the city of Borislav, where he was rector of the Church of the Dormition. In 1922 he was elevated to the rank of Archimandrite and transferred to Horn Island rector of St. Nicholas Church.
