Like his father, Aaron was a powerful and energetic soldier, had fought with bare fists, but he had to fight in a different era than his famous father, who bore the nickname of the East Star (The Star of the East),and very different rules. Aaron Sr. fought according to the rules Broughton, named after Jack Broughton (Jack Broughton), British boxer of the 18th century and one of the pioneers of this sport. Young Barney Aaron fought already on the rules of the London prize ring (London Prize Ring Rules), which were developed in 1838. In 1853 ,just three years before the young Aaron began his professional career, the rules of the London prize ring have been modified. From now on, the ring was supposed to be an area of 24 square feet (2.2 square meters) and is fenced around the perimeter of the two ropes. Any knockdown meant the end of the round, and the fallen fighter had only 8 seconds outto rise without assistance, and to continue the fight, a match is considered over. Interestingly, according to the rules Broughton boxer was as much as 30 seconds to return to the center of the ring, and he could use the help of his assistants. Thus, fighting the rounds were recorded and time ; 3minute rounds does not become current until the end of the 19th century.

The fight began at dawn and lasted 80 rounds, 2 hours and 20 minutes, and in the end, Aaron was the winner. September 2, 1857 in Providence, Rhode Island (Providence, Rhode Island), he defeated Johnny Moneganom (Johnny Moneghan), American boxing champion at lightweight. The battle lasted 3 hours and 20 minutes and more than 80 rounds. Win it, Aaron became the first in America (America) fighter of Jewish origin ,win a boxing championship. Alas, the following year, Aaron Patrick conceded the title ` Skotti` Brannaganu (Patrick` Scotty` Brannagan), and since that day he had not spent the entire 7 years no fight, because none of the boxers did not want to fight him.
Aaron returned to the ring in 1866, trying to regain the title ,but again he lost the fight Sam Collier (Sam Collyer) in the 47th round. It was painful for 2 hours and 5 minutes, after which both fighters have carried from the ring on a stretcher. However, Aaron managed to win over Collier in a rematch, held on June 13, 1867. The fight lasted 1 hour and 88 minutes and 68 rounds, and eventually Aaron regained the title. His most famous battle he conducted in 1878 against Arthur Chambers (Arthur Chambers), defeating it after 17 rounds.
In July 1874 his name got into the headlines, when Aaron prevented two pickpockets steal Rev. Henry Thorpe (Henry Thorpe), on which the thieves are targeting ,when the elderly priest rode in a carriage on Fourth Avenue. Aaron applied to criminals, some of his famous boxing techniques, placing both face in the dirt in the streets, and returned his gold watch Thorp.
In retirement, Aaron remained in boxing - he ran a gym in New York City (New York) and acted as referee. Is he,by the way, it was the referee in the match 1883, when John Lawrence Sullivan (John L. Sullivan) fought against Herbert Slade (Herbert Slade).
