During Perestroika Vladimir Grinyov has been actively involved in politics. So, in 1989 he was elected co-chairman of the regional organization of People`s Movement of Ukraine. He soon, however, left the political power.

Born July 26, 1945 in the village of Great Trinity Kursk region (now Belgorod region). In 1968 he graduated with honors from the Kharkov Polytechnic Institute. In 1972 he defended his thesis, in 1981 - his doctoral dissetatsiyu.

During Perestroika Vladimir Grinyov has been actively involved in politics. So, in 1989 he was elected co-chairman of the regional organization of People`s Movement of Ukraine. He soon, however, left the political power.

March 30, 1990 Vladimir Grinyov ballotirovlsya for the post of the deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Industrial (number 369) constituency. He won first place (with 5 applicants), but did not get more than 50% of the vote. In the second round he was elected to 53.49% of the vote. 7 July of the same year in the Verkhovna Rada, he was elected vice-speaker and held this post until voluntary retirement (autumn 1993).

December 1, 1991 Vladimir Grinyov participated in the presidential elections. For him, voted 1,329,758 people (4.17%). In 1993 Vladimir Grinyov became president of the International Fund "Business diaspora in Ukraine." In the same year he founded the Party "Interregional block reform `(MDBs), whose head he Otavalo until May 1999.

In early 1992, Vladimir Grinyova NGO "New Ukraine" was established, which he headed.

March 27, 1994 Vladimir Grinyov ballotirovlsya again for the post of the deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Industrial (number 369) constituency. In the first round, he again did not get more than 50% of the vote and 10 April 1994 was held the second round. However Grinyova opponent withdrew his candidacy and he was the only candidate in the elections (75.64% votes). This fact places without the enemy was the basis of non-recognition of the Verkhovna Rada powers Hrinova. Thus he became a deputy for the second time.

At first, Vladimir Grinyov announced his candidacy for president (June 26, 1994 were held early presidential elections), but later he withdrew his candidacy in favor of Leonid Kuchma. After coming to power last one time was an adviser to the president on matters of regional policy.

In December 1997, Vladimir Grinyova IDB has created a pre-election bloc of parties` social-liberal union (elephant) "electoral list which he headed. In the parliamentary elections of 1998, he also acted as the candidate of the single-mandate constituency (number 169) .However as elephants (0.90% of the vote), and Vladimir Grinyov (3.52% of the vote) and lost the election to the Verkhovna Rada has not passed again.

Already at that time a non-party, Vladimir Grinyov in 1999 - 2001 actively supported Prime Minister Viktor Yushchenko. After his retirement, and create them in early 2002. "Our Ukraine" (OU) Vladimir Grinyov continued to actively support the policy of "orange" opposition.
