During this time the guys have done a few demos, among which come across some really interesting compositions such as "Ain`t heaven made", "Hot rock", "No tears for you", "Laws against love". Gradually the "Vain" have collected a sufficient number of fans, and drew the attention of the rockpress. But, despite the fact that the photos and interviews with the band placed in their magazine "Kerrang" and "Metal Forces", the musicians were able to get a contract until 1989.
Their debut LP, released in the autumn of the same on the "Island Records", was produced by Paul Northfield ("Rush", "Queensryche"). Excellent glammetal album "No Respect" was accompanied by two videos, "Beat The Bullet" and "Who`s Watching Who", have received a large number of esters.
In November Vain "Vain" went to Europe to open for "Skid Row", and a few months later had a hedlaynersky tour of Japan. At the beginning of 1991th group with producer Jeff Hendrickson began work on their second album titled "All Those Strangers". Unfortunately, the disc was never released as a changed musical climate gave rise "Island Records" to terminate the contract. This fact, of course, did not contribute to the strengthening of the morale of the musicians ,and soon the two of them resigned : Danny West and Tom Rickard. Their places were taken by ex- drummer "Guns N` Roses" Steven Adler and guitarist Sean Rory and the team changed its name to "Roadcrew".
Under this name, the team played a series of concerts and recorded a series of demos in hopes of getting a contract. However, becausefor narcotic addictions Edler labels bypassed "Roadcrew" party, and the project was closed. In 1993 Wayne Davey collected original composition "Vain" minus Rickard, who was replaced by Danny Fury.

After a while, "Move On It" was released in England (on "Heavy Metal Records"), but the next album again reached the Land of the Rising Sun, where glam metal has always been held in high esteem. "Fade", as well as its predecessor, contains tracksborrowed from the "All Those Strangers" and "Roadcrew". Despite the fact that the albums of 1993 and 1995 enjoyed some success, and "Fade" was republished not only in Europe, but also in the United States, personnel stability "Vain" left much to be desired. In the mid-90s of the old men were only Wayne and Mitchell ,who together with drummer Louie Senor began working under the guise of "Dragonfly".
It took almost 10 years before the name of "Vain" reappeared on the horizon. The magazine "Guitar Player" called Eddie Van Halen`s " best new guitarist in 1978 ".
"Van Halen II", made in the same vein as his predecessor had not less success. Tricks Roth on stage became even more sensational - it was a showman with a capital letter ,skillfully combined theatrical stunts with a stunning voice, reaching a large effect. On the album "Women and children first" group slightly deviated from its former style, began experimenting with the use of synthesizers.
