Sue Weinlein Cook
BiographyCook worked on a number of products for the role-playing game in the style of fantasy `Dungeons & Dragons` (D & D) companies ` TSR` and in the company of her husband Monte Cook (Monte Cook) `Malhavoc Press`.
Sue Ueynleyn was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin (Green Bay, Wisconsin), and grew up in the Milwaukee area (Milwaukee). For the first time with the universe `Dungeons & Dragons` she met ,studying in high school. Sue says : ` I am ashamed to admit it. .. I really did not understand at first. I just could not go from table games to rolevym`.
After living several years in Tennessee (Tennessee), Sue returned to Milwaukee and was admitted to Marquette University (Marquette University), with a degree in journalism and Spanish. In his student years Ueynleyn first met with a representative of the company `TSR`. She recalls : ` I was at a rally of fans of science fiction, which was represented by an expert group on writing and editing books for the general World Series. James Lowder (James Lowder), then editor of the book department `TSR`, was at the rally. Later, I spoke to him about his work, and he invited me to tour the office `TSR` on Lake Geneva (Lake Geneva)`. Eighteen months after the guided tour Ueynleyn filed an application in the `TSR`, wanting to take the post of assistant editor, and received it in 1992. In addition to their main duties ,Sue also worked as a designer of two-dimensional games and game designer.
Ueynleyn became assistant creative director payline (of the universe) `Dragonlance` and brand manager of such lines as ` Dragonlance: Fifth Age` and `Marvel Super Heroes Adventure Game`. She participated in the development of the rules of the role-play `SAGA System`,in which the main role is played by ` sudby` card, and laid the foundation for the birth of a supplement ` Fifth Age of Krynn` for the line `Dragonlance`. Ueynleyn remember about this experience : ` I was very happy to be part of the team `Dragonlance`. I was pleased to work with Margaret Weis (Margaret Weis) and Hikmenom Tracy (Tracy Hickman) `.Cook was also associated with the production of `Dragonlance Fifteenth Anniversary Edition`, her last project under the line ` Dragonlance`.
In October 1998, Sue moved to the department of periodicals the company `Wizards of the Coast` and became editor of the science fiction magazine ` Amazing Stories`.About her new job, she says, ` Not many jobs could lure me from ` Dragonlance`, but this was one of them. It`s an honor to work on the publication of `Amazing Stories` with such a history and reputatsiey`. Ueynleyn responsible for the editorial work of many projects `Dungeons & Dragons` and other gaming products companies ` TSR` and `Wizards of the Coast` in the period from 1993 to 2002 - th. Beginning in 2001, she devoted herself to his company `Malhavoc Press`, opened with her husband, game designer Monte Cook.
Currently, Monte and Sue divorced.
