Bezobrazov, Maria V. (1856-1914), Russian philosopher and historian of Russian philosophy. Born on May 29 (June 10), 1856 in St. Petersburg in the family economist V.P.Bezobrazova. She graduated from the Pedagogical courses in 1876. She taught at a girls` school Vyazma. In 1885-1890 he studied philosophy at the University of Zurich. In 1891 she defended at the University of Bern doctoral thesis manuscript materials for the history of philosophy in Russia. After returning to the Russian public lectures, he published a collection of articles Philosophical Studies in 1892. She participated in the organization of Russian Women`s Charitable Society (1895), Ethical Society (1910). Own philosophical position is defined as "ethical idealism." In his doctoral dissertation Bezobrazov by examining the handwritten monuments of Old Russian thought in libraries in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Kiev, he showed how a significant role at this early stage, playing the works of theological content. In the history of Russian thought she identifies two opposing tendencies - the mystical etitsizm and materialism. During the first historically disclosed in ancient asceticism, freemasonry 18. and theosophy turn 19th and 20th centuries. Materialism is manifested in susceptibility to the enormous European deism, atheism and materialism of the 18th and 19th centuries.
