Born on January 4, 1946 in Warsaw. He recalls that at home parents (his father was a convinced Communist) were constantly talking about politics. Shkolnik joined the Polish Socialist Youth Union. Enrolled in an elite high school at the time - the Higher School of Planning and Statistics at the Faculty of Foreign Trade. But in March 1968 he organized a protest against police intervention in student life, and instantly he was expelled from high school and then izpravivshey PZPR. Future parliament speaker did not lose heart, and did not consider it shameful to sell jeans in the metropolitan department store "Junior". Later, again he joined the Polish United Workers` and was in the party until its dissolution in 1990, when the won the "Solidarity", headed by Lech Walesa.
Borovsky - one of the founders of the DDS. In 1993-94-m respectively - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance. From February 96th - Vice-Marshal of the Sejm.
