Dave Meltzer, editor of ` Observer` Wrestling (Wrestling Observer),Albano talked about as one of the most important people in wrestling, contributed to the growth in popularity of this kind of struggle in the northeastern United States. For forty-two years of professional career, Lou Albano led the fifteen teams of four and single athletes who have won gold medals. Albano is considered one of the three most respected and influential managers in wrestling, along with Ernie Roth and Fred Blassie, which was called ` Terrible triumviratom`.

Lou born July 29, 1933 in Rome, but his parents emigrated to the US shortly after the birth of a child. The family had five children. Brothers Louis Vincent, George and Charles, and sister Eleanor became teachers. In senior high school classes Lu played college football, then went to serve in the army. Demobilized, Albano got a job as a bouncer and became interested in professional wrestling. He had notable success as a single player ,but he achieved fame in tandem with wrestler Tony Altimore. Their team has used the image of the Italian gangster. In 1967, they won the National Championship, which was an excellent advertisement for Albano. In 1969 Albano stop competition to focus on management. He created a unique image of arrogant and pompous Captain Lou Albano, to promote promising athletes. By the beginning of Albano spoke Ivan Koloff, Nikolai Volkoff, Don Murakami, Hulk Hogan, Pat Patterson, and many other singles wrestlers and teams.

After becoming famous, Albano appeared in a respectable amount of television and movies.From 1985 to 1987 he appeared in the animated series Hulk Hogan`s `Rock` n` Wrestling` - all came out 26 episodes about the adventures of animated characters, which could be recognized without difficulty wrestling stars. However, the character voiced by actor George Albano Dichentso, and his voice Lu spoke only ` zhivyh` sidebars. Albano performed with rockGroup `NRBQ`, known for its live shows. In March 1989, he shaved off his beard, which has become a sort of trademark of Albano, just live. In 1996, the name of Lou Albano has been immortalized in the Hall of Fame of the World Wrestling Entertainment. Two years later, he published the book ` Professional wrestling : A Guide for idiotov` in collaboration with Bert Sugar. In the last years of his life Albano often appeared at conferences and other events organized by the Federation of wrestling. In the 90s and early 2000s, he frequently appeared on cable television, using the image of the extravagant ,which created during his professional career.

Lou Albano lived in the town of Carmel, not far from New York. After the end of his professional career, he became a representative of the National Foundation for multiple sclerosis. Albano was collecting money for the fund, often attracting to this Cyndi Lauper and other wrestlers and celebrities. In 2008, he released his autobiography, the foreword to which Cindy wrote. During the 90th Albano has lost 70 kg in order to improve their physical condition. In May 2005, he suffered a heart attack but Albano recovered, was discharged from the hospital and began to carefully monitor the health. October 14, 2009 Lou Albano died in his sleep at the age of 76 years. He left his wife Geri, four children and fourteen grandchildren. He was buried in the cemetery Rose Hill Memorial Park.
