Clary Tolnai (born Rozz Tolnai (R & # 243; zsi Tolnay)) was born July 17, 1914 in Budapest (Budapest, Hungary), in the family of Stephen Tolnai (Istv & # 225; n Tolnay) and Eleanor Ciss (Eleon & # 243; ra Siess ). Her childhood was spent in a small village Mokhorev County Nograd (Mohora, N & # 243; gr & # 225; d county), his father`s estate. After graduating from elementary school, she continued her studies at the school in Balassagyarmat (Balassagyarmat). Then the next two years Tolnai studied at the school at the Institute of Beatae Mariae Virginis in Nyiregyhaza (Ny & # 237; regyh & # 225; za). Last school years Tolnai were held in the School of Business, Debrecen (Debrecen). Since childhood, she zanimalaspeniem and music, therefore, following the advice, took part in one of the plays. And the results were not long in coming - soon began her acting career at the studio `Hunnia Movie Studio`.
The first well-known role of Clary began work in the film `Meseaut & # 243; `, after which in 1934 she was invited to work in the theater V & # 237; gsz & # 237; nh & # 225; z. There she played mostly supporting roles. In 1936, Tolnai married director Akos Raton (& # 193; kos R & # 225; thonyi). Four years later, a daughter Susanne (Zsuzsanna) was born in the family. After the Second World War in 1945, Akos Raton Clary and left with her daughter left Hungary.
In 1946, Tolnai left the theater V & # 237; gsz & # 237; nh & # 225; z, received a more attractive offer in another theater - M & # 369; v & # 233; sz Theatre. After some time, Clary met actor Ivan Darvas (Iv & # 225; n Darvas), for whom later married (in 1958 the couple divorced). In 1947godu Clary Tolnai was one of the leaders of theater V & # 237; gsz & # 237; nh & # 225; z. Along with it a revival of the past success of the theater, which he was known before the war, do Benko Gyula (Gyula Benk & # 337;) and Istvan Somlo (Istv & # 225; n Soml & # 243;). Three years later, in 1950, the government disbanded the theater, and Clary joined the troupe of Mad & # 225; ch Theate, where and worked until his death - October 27, 1998.
Clary`s acting career lasted Tolnai `64. During this time she has immortalized many characters both on stage and in film. For his contribution to the art in 1951 and 1952 Tolnai was awarded the prize `Kossuth`.
