Kondra & # 769; Shabat, Kiri & # 769; ll I & # 769; kovlevich (1920-2006) - a major Russian geophysicist, academician of the USSR (1984) and the Russian Academy of Sciences (1991), Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Russia, Adviser Academy of Sciences, Honorary Doctor Sciences university of Athens, Budapest and Lille. Major works on satellite metereologii, atmospheric optics, Actinometry, the problems of the global environment and climate change.
Born June 14, 1920 in Rybinsk, Yaroslavl province. He graduated with honors from the Physics Department of Leningrad State University with a degree in "Geophysics" (1946) .Rabotal at LSU assistant, associate professor, vice-rector for scientific work, head of the department, the rector (1964-70), professor (1970-78). He headed the department (1978-82) at the Main Geophysical Observatory named after AI MGO. Since 1982 - at the Institute of Limnology of the USSR Academy: Head of Sector, Head of Laboratory, Chief Researcher, since 1992 - Advisor to the Directorate.
By the world`s first monograph on Satellite Meteorology (1963), a series of monographs on remote sensing of the atmosphere and the underlying surface, the problem of the Earth`s radiation balance, fundamentals of natural-resource space research, comparative planetology. For the first time he led the environmental studies conducted by astronauts from space.
Author of more than 1,500 scientific articles and 102 monographs.
Kondratiev was a member of the International Academy of Astronautics, a member of Oceanology Branch Office of Atmospheric Physics and Geography Academy of Sciences, academician of the International Academy of Ecology, Man and Nature, an honorary foreign member of the German Academy of Natural Scientists "Leopoldina", the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, the American metereologicheskogo society the Royal meteorological society, chief editor of "study of Earth from space."
Laureate of the State Prize of the Soviet Union, the World Meteorological Organization Prize and the International Astronautical Federation. Simon was awarded the Gold Medal of the Royal Meteorological Society. He was awarded the Order of Lenin, Red Banner of Labour (twice), the Patriotic War II degree, medals.
Kondratiev was thrice married, she had a daughter and two sons.
