Adams was born on a small farm in southern Indiana (Indiana). For two years, James has taught at Indiana University (University of Indiana), and then joined the US Army. In 1958 came another book Adams, `Sparks Off My Anvil`; It also quickly became a bestseller. This book is to this day considered one of the seminal works in the field of advertising in general, and psychological aspects of advertising business in particular.
