In the early 60Wolf `s Blood and played Hallucination group and after the collapse of the acoustic trio joined the J. Geils Blues Band.
Jerome Geylz - guitar
Peter Wolf (real name Peter Blankfild) - vocals
Magic Dick (Dick Soluitts real name) - harmonica
Danny Klein - bass guitar
Steven Joe Blood - drumsThe group changed its acoustic instruments to electric, from the title disappeared the word " blues ", a year later was invited keyboardist SetDzhastmen, and musicians began touring the US West Coast with a repertoire which is based on the classic rhythm & blues.
The leader of the group was the Wolf, his unconventional arrangements of compositionsthe author of which was usually Dzhastmen, provided the J. Geils Band by contract with Atlantic. In the early 70`s J. Geils Band performed a lot, but this fact did not affect the results of studio work : many of the compositions included in the Top 40 American hit parade, the album " Bloodshot " (1973) became the "gold " in the United States, and in Europe. In 1977, the band performed for some time under the name of Geils (like Geils, they recorded a record "Monkey Island"). In 1978 the record " Sanctuary " has become the second "golden" disc J. Geils Band, but the greatest success fell to the lot of the album "Freeze-Frame", 1981.
In 1983, Wolfe began a solo career, singer functions transferred to Dzhastmenu ,and it was the only change in structure. In 1985 the band decided to temporarily disband, but "temporary" lull, it seems, threatens to turn into an eternal, even though almost all the musicians J. Geils Band participate in projects of different artists ,and the most active of them - Peter Wolf - with more udovols Viy recorded solo and gives a very interesting concerts. In general, the fate of the J. Geils Band is not defined. (In 1996, P. Wolfe recorded his new CD.)
