The basis of these two books laid the once legendary British occultist Aleister Crowley ; in 1915-m, he wrote the book for Evangeline ` basic principles astrologii` (` The General Principles of Astrology`). It should be noted that Adams never mentioned she provided assistance to Crowley. Also, many people remember her autobiographical work ` Bowl heavens ` (` The Bowl of Heaven`);book is devoted mainly to the formation of Evangeline as astrology and stories from his personal life is essentially free.
Adams was born in Jersey City, NJ, in a fairly conservative family. Her father died when she was only fifteen months. Even before the beginning of his career astrologer Evangeline was betrothed to a certain Mr. Lord ,rumor - its employer. At first, Adams asserted that really in love with him ; later, however, the feeling was gone, and the engagement was broken off. In those days it was almost tantamount to divorce and, as a result, caused a serious scandal.In the late twenties and early thirties of the twentieth century, Evangeline worked companion Emma Viola Sheridan Fry.
It is known that not long for the legendary fall of the stock markets in 1929, Adams in his astrological newspaper readers recommended to invest in securities ; to his misfortune ,Thousands of subscribers have followed this advice.
It is known that Evangeline was arrested twice for divination - in 1908 and in 1914. Despite the fact that astrology at that time was officially banned ,Adams for the second time managed to get out unscathed - right in the courtroom Evangeline on only one date of birth was able to make a fairly accurate psychological portrait of the son of a judge. Struck by the judge acquitted the fortune-teller ; newspaper then announced that Adams was able to make astrology the exact science.
Evangeline Adams, died in 1932.
