He studied law and philosophy at the University of Barcelona. He was a regular at the cafe "four cats", where they often visited Picasso and the artists close to him. In 1906-1910 he worked as a correspondent for the Catalan newspaper in Paris. I listened to the lecture of Bergson, became interested in the philosophy of pragmatism (Charles S. Peirce, U.Dzheyms). He participated in the III International Congress of Philosophy in Heidelberg (1908), VI Congress of Psychology in Geneva (1909), he gave a philosophical lecture in Barcelona. In 1914 he tried to defend his dissertation on the philosophy of space and time in Madrid (protection failed, the only voice in support gave Jose Ortega y Gasset). Director of the Institute of Catalan Studies (1911), led the Division of Higher Education at the Pedagogical Council of the Commonwealth of Catalonia (1914), resigned in the same year, broke up in the views with the leadership (political views d`Orsay was close to anarcho-syndicalism). Against Orcia acted majority of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth, its social and political career in Catalonia was interrupted.

In 1920 d`Orsay moved to Madrid, this time written in Spanish only. In 1921 he lectured in Argentina. Was izbranchlenom Royal Spanish Academy (1927). In his youth, he was close to the Spanish modernism, but moved away from him and founded novesentizm. The periodical was published under various pseudonyms, the most famous of which - Xenia. He became famous primarily philosophical essays, which developed the genre of so-called "glosses" - a brief comment in the free newspaper or magazine to any relevant topics. Author of monographs on the Baroque, works of Goya, Cezanne, Picasso. He served as a graphic artist (under a pseudonym). Much of the giant heritage Orcia, including his literary works (poetry, prose, drama), was published after the author`s death.
