BiographyCopeland Group was formed in 2000, Aaron Marsh and James Layknesom in one of the many small towns of Florida. Later, the group came guitarist Modern Day Miracle Brain Laurenson. All members of the group were twenty, and their musical tastes were nearly formed.

" Aaron Marsh Copeland Group was formed in 2000, Aaron Marsh and James Layknesom in one of the many small towns of Florida. Later, the group came guitarist Modern Day Miracle Brain Laurenson. All members of the group were twenty, and their musical tastes were nearly formed. At the time of the group Aaron attended art school in Florida, earning collector of furniture and James Layknes worked as a sales agent. Prior to joining the Copeland drummer John Beckley worked as a peddler pizza and played in various rock bands. Guys are always interested in indie rock, Brit- rock, therefore, they did not respond at that time fashionable styles - poppunk and rap - rock. In 2001, Copeland released their first disc split with Pacifico on the label Theory 8, and then Dying Wish Records recorded the song That Awful Memory of Yours, which was included in the collection From Brooklyn with Love. In 2002, Copeland signed a contract with the label The Militia Group and moved to Atlanta, began recording their debut album.Boys were forced to move from their native lands at the urging of producer Matt Goldman, who was very interested in them. During the recording of their debut album Beneath Medicine Tree Marsh going through hard times : his grandmother died, and besides, even his girlfriend was hospitalized. When the album Beneath Medicine Tree was released ,in the booklet includes photographs taken by Marsh in the hospital. Due to the fashion for " imo " critics were quick to Copeland attributed to the genre, while as musicians, even had no idea that this " imo ". And no wonder, because almost all of the material they wrote then impressed by the creativity of Radiohead and Coldplay,although the same Jimmy Eat World also had a considerable influence on them. In 2004, Copeland first performed in the Christian rock fest Cornerstone, where they were received very well. Around the same time, a second split with the band The Pale on Sidecho label was recorded. musicians Tastes have changed and become deeper and wider : Matt Goldman is often recommended to listen to Aaron Marsh Queen, while Aaron himself enchanting album Grace by Jeff Buckley. Sitting in the studio, Copeland Police recorded a cover version of the song - Every breathe you take, then their label gave the idea to do a cover album. As a result, in 2004, the Release Know Nothing Stays the Same, which included cover versions of songs by Phil Collins, Stevie Wonder, Berlin and many others by Copeland. In November 2004, the band went on tour with Sparta team, based on the ruins of the acclaimed At the Drive In. With Copeland Christian groups were not frequent,but still took part in tours with Mae, Watashi Wa and Switchfoot. Copeland popularity grew, and they are increasingly began to invite all sorts of Christian festivals, but the group is in most cases refused these proposals as more focused on proposals from the organizers of the secular. The only exception remained Christian rock fest Cornerstone, that group visits each year. 22 -Mar 2005, Copeland released their second Long Play In Motion, and then went on tour with Lovedrug and Acceptance. The musicians say they are not important money, and the art itself. They are not concerned with lucrative contracts ,however, they admit that would not mind to share the stage with Coldplay and Paul McCartney.
