"Bad Religion" was founded in 1980 in one of the northern suburbs of Los Angeles four guys - Brett Gurevitsem (guitar) Greg Graffin (vocals) , Jay Bentley (bass) and Jay Ziskrautom (drums) . Gurevits at the same time created the company "Epitaph" for the release of a group of records. In 1981 it published the first release of the gang - EP with six songs of pure punk. Quality, of course, left much to be desired. Before the release of their debut album in the team had replaced the drummer - instead Ziskrauta appeared Pete Finestone. "Into the Unknown", released in 1983, drew some attention to "Bad Religion" in the punk scene. Upon its release, the band altered somewhat - a new bassist Paul Dedona a new drummer - Dave Goldman. This staff turnover has not ended, and in 1984 the company dumped Gurevits, get to development of drugs. " The old man " Graffin then decided to completely renovate the structure, taking to his guitarist Greg Hetsona (ex- "Circle Jerks"), bassist Tim Gallegosai returned Finestone.

This configuration has released a hard punk EP-Schnick "Back to the Known". The album includes the song "Along the Way", which still is one of the most popular songs of the group. Tracks indicated what path will continue to adhere to the team : short captivating songs with strong vocals, guitar fast and very simple drums, easy to maintain speed and rhythm.Next, "Bad Religion" for three years disappeared from sight as Gurevits while I became interested in sound recording. The group resumed its work in 1987, including: Gurevits, Graffin, Ziskraut, Hetson and Finestone.

"Suffer", released the following year was named the best album of a radio "Flipside", and the "Maximum Rock and Roll",and when, in 1989, "Bad Religion" released "No Control", their popularity has jumped quite suddenly, in spite of the poor reception of the eastern coast of the US public during the tour "Suffer".

In 1990, the band released a true masterpiece, "Against the Grain", includes 17 fast, short songs. In 1993-m on a wave of interest in alternative music to the team has been drawn attention to major labels, one of which, "Atlantic Records", the guys signed a contract. Released it was to " Epitaph " album "Recipe for Hate" quickly re-released on the " Atlantic". Disc 1994 "Stranger Than Fiction" was the last work Gurevitsa with the team ,because he did not want to communicate with the major label at the time, as published in "Epitaph" offspringovsky "Smash" had good success. Brett on was replaced by Brian Baker. Disc 1996 "The Gray Race" has had such success as its predecessors. But the decent work was the album "New America", recorded with producer Todd Rundgren.

After a while, "Atlantic" broke the contract with the group, and "Bad Religion" are back on the "Epitaph". After a six-year absence returned to the team " prodigal " Gurevits, who participated in recording "The Process Of Belief".
