Amerie - the daughter of a mixed marriage ,mother - Korean and father - African-American, the military profession. Born January 12, 1980 in Massachusetts, she grew up on the road from Alaska to Germany, meanwhile studying classical art from her mother and R & B music from his father.
Amerie learned to dance from an early age and childhood participated in various talent shows. After her High School family settled in Virginia, and Amerie came to study at Georgetown University, which she subsequently successfully completed with a degree in English and Fine Arts. In 2005 Amerie recorded the biggest hit of all her still short career - the song " 1 Thing" from the second album "Touch".The single was also present in the soundtrack to the romantic comedy with Will Smith, " The method of Hitch. "
Producer Rich Harrison sampled characteristic guitar and drum loops from the songs in 1970 "Oh, Calcutta" performed at the time funk group The Meters. (By the way, Harrison was also co-wrote and produced "Crazy In Love" for Beyonce,which also has a distinctive sample of wind) .
