Dark-wave project from Minneapolis "Aesma Daeva" was founded by guitarist John Prassasom in 1996. John pretty bored Music,that offer mainstream with its predictable set of instruments (guitar, bass, drums, vocals) . Prassas also gravitated to something abstract, and so he became interested in the work of industrial groups such as "Skinny puppy", applying electronics in an unconventional manner. That is why he decided to start experimenting with all sorts of sintezatorno-computer cases.
Just at this time, John `s arm turned up Nick Copernicus, who had similar musical tastes. Here the guys and started their experiments with synthesizers, scanners, effects racks, and other modern electronic devices. Soon Copernicus proposed to record a couple of tracks, and he took over the producer`s function. After a while, the musicians presented their creations to the audience. One of the songs, "Darkness", hit nasbornik "Diva X Machina 2 ". This thing, as well as the second track, "Stay", attracted the attention of the German label "Accession records", who offered to publish debut album "Aesma Daeva". But let the record would have been uninteresting without vocals ,and so the team was invited to the classical singer Rebecca Cords preparation. The disc "Here lies who`s name was written in water" (the name was taken from a gravestone epitaph on the grave of the poet John Keats) was released in 1999 and was re-released on the "Root Of All Evil Records" for the next year. Meanwhile Prassas undertook to prepare new material for their second album. Following the tradition of musical development, John used the guitar faster, increasing the duration of tracks and expanded set of tools (violin were added, brass, prepared piano) .
"The Eros Of Frigid Beauty", published in "Root Of All Evil",He was released in January 2002 and received rave reviews from publki, although potential hits were not on it. In the same year, the first appearance of "Aesma Daeva" to the audience. For such a case in the group were invited vocalist Melissa Ferlaak, drummer and guitarist Craig Oren Ruth Earl. The debut concert of the team played in a small club in the town of St. Paul. But already in a week the musicians performed in front of a much larger audience on "Milwaukee metalfest".
