Gibe Adilet was an avid marathon runner, mountaineer and triatlanistom. Its highest point was the second peak Muztagh-Ata (7549m), the second highest mountain north of the Tibetan Plateau in China. July 18, 2012 on the slopes of Khan Tengri, at an altitude of 5300m, Adilet was found dead in his tent.
The circumstances of the death are not entirely clear, but as the probable cause could be altitude sickness. To somehow shed light on the tragedy Adilet family issued a travel diary that he kept during the ascent.
